Recreation and sports

Nature and the outdoors
Krantzkloof Nature Reserve is a 668ha conservancy in the Hillcrest area. The Shongweni Nature Reserve, also nearby, is one of the top bird sanctuaries in South Africa.
The Valley of 1000 Hills, a densely forested gorge between Durban and Pietermartizburg, is another spectacular area with many walking, hiking and cycling trails.
